its a bar in the back of my car….
Cody and I went to Lubbock last weekend for the Tech vs. OU game. The game began at 11:30, so what better way to start the day – a breakfast taco from Josies and the alcoholic beverage of your choice (whatever that may be at 10am.) We came prepared with bloody mary mix, vodka, jim beam and coke. For some of us, Saturday morning was a little rough but we all managed drink some pirate punch, however it did not equate to the feeling I would have while sitting next to a guy who practically ate popcorn out of my hair for the first 20 minutes of the game. GROSS!
Thanks Mom for the great cups.
and yes I feel about as good as I look in this picture
before and after….
updates to the house…..
More on the house…. we replaced all the interior door knobs. We had some brass/gold looking ones that really dated the look of our home. So we bought dark-colored/brushed ones that match our decor a little better. Next is to get rid of the gold and white ceiling fans in the master bedroom and master bathroom (yes we have a ceiling fan in our bathroom.) Before and after pictures to come….
This past Saturday we added 3 truck loads of soil to our back yard to help the foundation and fill in the old dog run Cody removed. After seeding it with annual rye on Sunday, we got a nice little rain. Hopefully it didn’t wash everything away! Pictures to come soon…….
a little cooking
I’ve been meaning to post for a while but just haven’t had the will or the time.
I’ve been baking and cooking up some delicious things! A few weekends ago, we had some friends over so I used this as an excuse to make one of my most favorite dips. Its baked in Hawaiian bread. (and of course I took all of the fat out of the recipe ;0). I did manage to take a picture of my beautiful masterpiece with the Tecate I drank while I made it.
I’ve also been baking and baking and baking….rolls for my family’s thanksgiving feast. I made a trial batch on Friday afternoon after I got off work and followed it up with 8 more batches on Saturday evening after we worked in the yard all day. These quick rolls are great homemade rolls and just that, very quick to make. These will reside in the freezer, to be transported to Menard on the 25th.
the weekend
The weekend was full of odds and ends to do. On Saturday we went to do a little christmas shopping after we completed some chores around the house. We traveled to Southlake Town Center, which is near my office. Its pretty much a one stop shop. Cody and I got very lucky and found some “perfect” gifts for our family. We also picked up a few new ornaments at Pottery Barn (which we have done every year since we’ve been married.) Attached are a few pics of Southlake Town Center. Very neat little place! Stores range from Lucky Brand Jeans to Anthropology to Crate and Barrel to Cheesecake Factory to the Apple store.
our house

Hello world!
So this is my first blog! I decided to begin this after Cody and I have moved to the DFW metroplex. After leaving so many great friends in Austin, and family living a few hours away, I thought it would be a great way to keep updated with what’s going on with us. So I will be posting more items soon!
